Cultural Heritage Tourism Grants Funded

November 2007

City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department, Tucson. Presidio San Augustin del Tucson Archaeology Exhibit, $10,000. An exhibit, interpretive materials, and accompanying public programs and docent training for newly reconstructed and restored properties on the presidio site, opening in mid 2008. Project Director: Peg Weber, 520/791-4873. Tourism Partner: Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors' Bureau.

Sharlot Hall Museum, Prescott. Arizona History Adventure, $10,000. Living history presentations based on the museum's historic buildings and their embodiment of central Arizona's heritage and the settlement of the American West, presented on Saturdays in 2008. Project Director: Mick Woodcock, 928/445-3122. Tourism Partners: Prescott Chamber of Commerce, Prescott Area Coalition for Tourism.
