ASU Department of Political Science, Tempe. Garfield Neighbors, $3,025. A documentary on the historic Garfield neighborhood of Phoenix, with four local viewings/discussions in February 2007, followed by wider Valley distribution. Project Director: Marilyn Dantico, 480/965-1316.

Center for Desert Archaeology, Tucson. Honey Bee Village: Community Based Interpretive Planning, $5,025. Tours, lectures, and panel discussions among scholars and community members starting in July 2006, to develop an interpretive plan for this archaeological preserve in Oro Valley. Developing Innovations in Navajo Education, Inc., Flagstaff. Navajo Traditional Worldview Project, $5,025. Video presentations at three Navajo Chapter Houses, accompanied by video interviews with translations, to increase understanding of the Navajo Beauty Way healing ceremony in relation to comparable Siberian Buryat-Mongol shamanic traditions. Flagstaff Festival of Science, Flagstaff. 2006 Flagstaff Festival of Science, $5,025. Keynote speaker honorarium, facilities, and promotional materials for this annual festival, which will highlight social sciences associated with archaeology and history for 10 days in September 2006. Grand Canyon National Park Foundation, Flagstaff. If Boats Could Talk: Craft, Culture, and Change on the Colorado, $5,025. An interpretive guide to accompany a rotating exhibit opening in October 2006 and featuring historic water craft, oral histories, and other artifacts on the history of Colorado river running and subsequent exploration of the Grand Canyon. Heard Museum, Phoenix. Heard Museum Film Festival, $5,025. Screenings and panel discussions with Native filmmakers at this annual festival taking place in October 2006. Project Director: Frank H. Goodyear, Jr., 602/251-0227.

John Wesley Powell Museum, Page. Powell Museum Oral History Project 2006-2007 (Phase I), $3,025. Research and oral history collection for the pre-production phase of a project that will result in a book, DVD, and subsequent public screenings. Project Director: Kimberly Keisling, 928/645-9496.

Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff. Heritage Insights for Celebraciones de la Gente, $5,025. Lectures, workshops, and interpretive talks to enhance understanding of the connections between Latino/a and Native American culture at this annual festival, which will be held in October 2006. Pueblo Grande Museum, Phoenix. Heisey Exhibit Programming and Marketing, $3,000. Educational programming and public lectures starting in July 2006 to accompany a traveling exhibit featuring aerial photography of archaeological sites in Arizona and the Southwest. Sharlot Hall Museum, Prescott. Arizona Heritage Project Summer Institute, $5,025. A four-day institute to train teachers and student leaders participating in the Arizona Heritage Project, a statewide initiative affiliated with the Library of Congress’ American Folklife Center that supports local history research and presentation. Silvercloud Video Productions, Tucson. Native Image Preservation, $3,007. Restoration, reformatting, and distribution of two films on Native American cultural topics followed by public screenings at tribal centers and the University of Arizona. Project Director: John Crouch, 520/529-2043.

Southwest Museum Foundation, Mesa. Searching for Mesa: Finding Ourselves in Our History, $5,025. A speaker series to accompany this exhibition running through November 2006 at the Mesa Southwest Museum and then permanently installed at the Mesa Historical Society.
